Bath Road Retail Park

We took on the structural and civil consultancy services for an innovative 3-bay retail unit project at Bath Road Retail Park. Our client, Legal and General, partnered with Geddes Architects to reimagine the existing space.

The brief was clear: increase the internal height to accommodate new mezzanines whilst utilising the existing substructure. This presented an exciting engineering puzzle. We devised a solution that involved carefully cutting down the existing steelwork and splicing a taller new steel frame to the remaining column stubs.

This approach allowed us to maximise the available space without the need for extensive groundworks, resulting in a cost-effective and efficient solution for our client. The project showcased our ability to think creatively and work within existing constraints to deliver outstanding results.

Our close collaboration with the architect and client ensured that the structural modifications seamlessly integrated with the overall design vision. The successful completion of this project underscores our commitment to providing innovative engineering solutions that meet our clients' evolving needs.
